It is located in the Municipality of Scala, in the Campidoglio area, about 450 m above the sea, the most scenic point of Scala where the most beautiful views are enjoyed from the breathtaking view of the elegant villas of Ravello, the Gulf of Salerno and the entire Amalfi Coast, the land of inspiration of Great Artists of all ages. Scala is the oldest town on the Amalfi Coast, with a long and fascinating history linked to the Republic of Amalfi behind it, representing an important stronghold of its in medieval times.
It is divided into numerous hamlets, or Borghi, characterized by a unique atmosphere and aggregated each around a church. In the historic center, there is the 12th-century Cathedral of San Lorenzo, with its central portal in Romanesque-Gothic style; it was renovated in Baroque style in 1615; it has a fine hand-painted majolica floor. In the hamlet of Minuta, is located the beautiful and ancient church dedicated to the Santissima Annunziata, dating back to the 11th century. In the hamlet of Pontone are ruins of St. Eustace Abbey, dating back to the 12th century. Directly from our facility, visitors hikers and climbers will be able to reach enchanting destinations along the many mountain trails with sections suspended sheer above the valleys below and under a sky so close they can almost touch it. Unforgettable destinations, to be reached directly: the area of the ” Valle delle Ferriere ” ( upper zone) which is part of the 41 Italian biogenetic reserves, with a botanical heritage of immense value, with very rare plants that have survived since prehistoric times, in particular the “Woodwardia Radicans”, a giant fern with fronds that reach up to three meters in length, dating back to the “Cenozoic” period considered as a ” Living Fossil”; and “Valle dei Mulini” ( lower area), where ruins of the Ironworks and paper mills of the Duchy of Amalfi can be admired among lush vegetation. Other enchanting trails can also be traveled on the backs of mules. Not far from the facility, via a path one can reach the area of “Punta D’Aglio” where there is a tall and imposing rock face of gray-red limestone, particularly frequented in the summer by a multitude of people who love Climbing. Between the municipalities of Positano and Agerola, for a length of 10 km, the ” Path of the Gods” develops between the mountains of the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento Coast, an unforgettable hiking trail capable of concentrating the wildest beauty and spectacular scenery of the Coast.
